The Department of Diagnostic Imaging incorporates services at Numerous medical centres across Victoria. The department provides over 280,000 imaging examinations per year across all sites. The Service currently employs approximately 310 EFT, and has a net operating budget in excess of $28m. The Department clearly defines its purpose as the delivery of leading-edge, evidence-based diagnostic and therapeutic imaging services, research and education that meets the needs of our community. This is evidenced by the large number of publications, research and beta agreements currently in place. The collaborative agreements and published research are indicators of leadership and expertise in the field of Radiology.
The department currently has a fully integrated RIS and PACS, multiple Thin Client advanced visualisation systems, electronic results delivery system and prosthetic tracking system.
Experience in the imaging space whilst desirable is not a prerequisite; the organisation is seeking a motivated individual with excellent IT industry experience coupled with high level interpersonal skills.
The department is currently undergoing a tender to replace the current RIS and PACS with an innovative system to meet the department's complex needs. This position will form part of the team to support the current system and any future changes.
Imaging Information Systems Administrator will provide technical support for all Imaging information systems using technical knowledge in a customer focused environment.
The role of the position includes but is not limited to: -
Have an understanding of the architecture of information systems
Relationship and customer management
Implementing information management systems and clinical applications
Help desk support
Project management
Provision of clinical application support and training
Be responsive to problems and drive solutions for Clinical applications for internal and external customers
Vendor and contract management
Provide hands on technical services as part of a small team
Excellent organisational skills and be able to work under own initiative.
Participate in an on-call service.
