Our client, a very well recognised, large scale Queensland Government Organisation, is currently seeking a Business Intelligence Specialist to join them on an initial 6 month contract.

The Business Intelligence Specialist will be responsible for a number of Statistical, Operation and Analytical Reports along with Data Analysis Solutions.

The Business Intelligence Specialist will also be responsible for providing input to Organization Change Management (ACME) deliverables and Release Planning deliverables.

Other Key Responsibilities will include;

• Technical leadership for the development, maintenance and support of current and developing reporting solutions/services
• implement, unit test and performance tune the solution to meet reporting Requirements
• Reporting - Develop enhancements, fix defects. and performance tuning activities
  Transfer of report knowledge to internal Staff
• Advice to Projects and internal Staff regarding analytical reporting solutions
• As required, analyse and implement solutions to production support incidents, problems and requests
• Assist/mentor internal staff to analyse and resolve production support incidents
• Identification of technical issues/risks to the reporting solutions/services and collaborative development of resolution/mitigation strategies

To be successful for this role you will possess the following key experience;

• Demonstrated well developed ability to analyse, design, develop and test reports and data analysis solutions for Business Intelligence (BI) reporting/analysis using Microsoft's SQL Server 2005, Integration Services, Analysis Services, Reporting Services.
• Demonstrated well developed ability in the use of SQL, MDX, Stored Procedures, Integration Services.
• Knowledge and experience using Zap BI and Microsoft Excel pivot tables..
• Experience in packaging and deploying Business Intelligence/data warehousing solutions.
• Well developed knowledge and understanding of ICT technologies and trends with particular  reference, as required by QPS, to one or more of the following technical disciplines;

Technical Skills;

• Systems development
• Report design and construction Analytical query design and construction
• Datamodelling and data cube design
• Data warehousing
• Demonstrated ability to produce high quality business and technical documentation
