This is opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyoror Contracts Manager to join an international mining and minerals exploration company that has a new, exciting and unique mining projects underway in the Pacific. With environmental approvals now in place, these innovative projects will be combining oil and gas and mining technologies to push the frontiers of exploration.
You will be working with the Contracts Manager and Project Development Team to review and prepare contract documentation to ensure the company is legally protected and meets all obligations in law, review correct drafting of documents, and ensure subcontracts align with necessary Standards. You will also provide guidance to the teams on understanding contractual and commercial matters, liaise with external lawyers, and monitor litigation costs.
To be successful in the role you need to have tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commerce, 5-8 years experience as a Contracts Administrator in an oil and gas or petroleum environment, high level negotiation and facilitation skills, the ability to review and understand legal documents, and recognise areas of potential risk. You also need excellent research and analytical skills, good time management, and above average computer skills using MS Office applications.
