A Highly respected Financial institution, seeks a experienced Mortgage Risk professional who with the assistance of two team members managing the credit policy for their Mortgage Product . The purpose of the role is to manage the organisations credit policy, credit processing and credit analytics. Ensuring that the credit application process has strong controls, highly automated and is reflective of our pricing assumptions. The role is also responsible for operational and portfolio reporting for the credit team with the aim of identify process improvement opportunities and risk mitigation purposes. With a focus on Credit Policy -
- Maintain the credit policy manual ensuring it is clear, concise and reflective of current market conditions. This includes managing The LMI Delegated Underwriting program.
- Responsible for managing the credit delegation holders across the bank, including Customer Service.
- Managing third party suppliers to the credit application process
- o LMI
- o Valuers
- o Credit Bureau
- Ensuring that their services are consistent with SLA’s and prices are competitive
- Process Improvement
- Reporting and Analysis
· Leadership - Lead, develop and coach a team to achieve the Credit and ultimately Banks KPI’s
- Effective management of Credit resources (people, IT etc) to deliver on the operational and strategic plan
- Maintaining the relationship between Sales teams and our distribution customers (Brokers, Planners and direct.
- Drive achievement of Credit & Banks KPIs through effective communication and working relationships with internal and external business partners
- Build a constructive culture across the Credit team which reinforces the celebration of success, active learning from failures, teamwork and customer focus
- Maintain the integrity of the performance management system to ensure high performance and constructive behaviours are recognised and rewarded
- Foster an environment of career progression and role satisfaction through the promotion and establishment of meaningful development plans which are auctioned

To be successful in this position, you will have significant exposure and working knowledge of the finance industry, specifically mortgage underwriting/loan assessment, significant people leadership and management experience, preferably within the mortgage application processing field and finally a proven experience in identification and successful implementation of process improvement.
